You also have the option of flying into Proserpine, which is about a one hour shuttle bus ride from Airlie beach where you can catch the Fantasea Ferry Cruise across to the island. But if you prefer to drive yourself, follow the highway right up until Airlie Beach where you will easily find appropriate accommodation for your car while you travel on the ferry to you destination.
